The Rantoul City Schools board approved its consent agenda on Sept. 18, which included routine minutes and financial items, personnel approvals and first reading of district policy changes packaged as Press Issue 119. The consent motion included a stipulation that new hires must meet Illinois statutory requirements and district policies and was made by Niki Pettit and seconded by Robin Vaughn.
Among the policy revisions noted in the packet was a change to Payment Procedures raising the approval threshold from $5,000 to $10,000 and proposed language added to Board Member Oath and Conduct advising: "Consult the board attorney for guidance when considering any type of disciplinary action or sanction against a board member." The consent agenda also included approval of an RCSEA/RCS memorandum of understanding for inclusion facilitators and described an intergovernmental agreement approach to let employees pool board-paid health insurance contributions with spouses employed by other IERMP districts; staff noted that each employee seeking the benefit needs an IGA and that the arrangement produces no additional cost to the district.
