Board approves rewritten student-support and Title IX grievance policies

The Palos Heights SD 128 board reviewed and approved a set of policy updates at its Aug. 13 meeting. The board specifically noted rewritten drafts for policy 7:255 (Students Who Are Parents, Expectant Parents, or Victims of Domestic or Sexual Violence) and policy 2:265 (Title IX Grievance Procedure). Mrs. Lachowicz moved to approve the policies as presented; Ms. Rubio seconded and the motion passed by voice vote with all ayes.
The board reviewed a broad list of draft updates spanning governance, personnel, student services and safety policy codes (examples listed in the minutes include policies numbered 2:260, 4:15, 4:80, 5:10, 5:20, 6:150, 7:10 and multiple student-related policies through 7:340). The approved rewritten policies will be incorporated into district policy documents as indicated in the board materials.
