Dr. Monica Schroeder said the adjacent blacktop is cracked and buckled and recommended a civil engineering topographic study before adding swings or updating courts. The Board approved a Wight & Co. engagement authorization for $98,000 to study the Oak Terrace Outdoor Recreation Area, with the playground equipment installation slated for summer 2026 and blacktop improvements planned for summer 2027. "Installation at Sherwood is slated to begin the week of April 19," Chaidez noted when describing the implementation timeline.
