District committee drafting AI framework for teachers and students; policy slated for review Feb. 17

Superintendent Dr. Michael Lubelfeld and Executive Director for Technology Jeremy Wickham noted that the District 112 Educational Technology Committee has been meeting to draft a comprehensive framework governing the use of generative artificial intelligence for teachers and students.
Committee work includes identifying professional development needs, drafting a board policy and guidelines, and will be presented at a special Board Policy Committee meeting on Jan. 22; the draft policy is scheduled for the full Board on Feb. 17, 2026.
