The board recessed to closed session at 6:41 p.m. and returned to open session at 8:34 p.m., after which it approved multiple personnel actions. Classified hires approved included Maleasha Meredith as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Dr. Andy Hall Early Education Center (step 4) and Baden Rutherford as a Float Custodian (step 5). The vote recorded Ayes from Blok, Jackson, Reynolds, Flanigan and Daniels.
The board also approved transfers (Yvette Jones and Thelma Buck shifting paraprofessional assignments effective Oct. 6; Aarin Wilson moving to Administrative Secretary/Accounts Payable effective Oct. 10 with prorated salary; Cleora Brown moving to Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent effective Oct. 17, prorated), accepted resignations (Tammy Ramsey effective 9/18/25; Rhys Pavlovich effective 9/24/25; Sarah Healy effective 10/29/25), and approved extracurricular hires (Amy Horner as Head Cheer Coach, McKenzie Butler as Safety Patrol with prorated stipend, Hannah Flatt as Assistant Cheer Coach). Additional approved items included a hire correction for Mariah Ellis, a dock-day request for Barbara Leake, Stacy Hayes' retirement at the end of the 2029-2030 school year, and approval of an administrative contract. All personnel motions were passed by roll call as recorded in the minutes.
