Mount Vernon D80 reports steady enrollment; Primary Center highlights family engagement event

Superintendent Ryan Swan reported district enrollment of 1,429 students as of Sept. 8, 2025, compared with 1,432 on Sept. 3, 2024. School start dates were provided: Primary Center, J.L. Buford Intermediate Center and Zadok Casey Middle School began Aug. 13; Dr. Andy Hall Early Education Center began Aug. 21. The minutes record those attendance-start dates and the enrollment snapshot provided by the superintendent.
At the Primary Center, Ms. Cindy Kessler and Assistant Principal Jeremy Clarke presented a slideshow to the board describing steady enrollment trends and school-level activities; Kessler said the first 'Ready Set Grow' night was successful and the next Ready Set Grow night is scheduled for October 7, 2025. The Primary Center reported students have begun receiving Principal's Awards and visiting the PBIS store.
