During its Jan. 8 meeting the Building and Grounds Committee reviewed a priority list separating mandatory projects from planning-level projects and recommended several items for future board action. The committee’s recommendations included a reseal of the back parking lot (estimate $55,000), masonry repairs estimated at $200,000, installation of a shot clock in the gym if a new scoreboard is not purchased (estimate $6,000), and a water trench to serve baseball/softball fields (estimate $30,000). The committee also noted a Sterling Roofing walkthrough will be scheduled in spring to evaluate flat-roof needs.
Committee records show the Johnson Controls fire-panel replacement is near completion with engineers scheduled to return, the auditorium curtain cleaning and flame-retardant application has been completed, and the main gym floor was resealed as the first project in fiscal year 2026. The committee did not vote on contracting for these capital projects at the meeting but directed staff to prepare estimates and next steps for board consideration.
