At the meeting Dr. Woods outlined the district's Tentative Tax Levy, explaining that the district will request a net 4.98% increase, or $349,298, while county estimates suggest a 10.4% property value increase and $1,773,440 in new property. "The Tentative Tax Levy is to ask for a net 4.98% increase ($349,298)," the board packet states.
Dr. Woods told the board the likely extension is estimated as a 3.62% increase ($245,409) and that the estimated total tax rate for RCS will decrease from 3.9681% to 3.7326%. He also noted the district will not need a Truth in Taxation hearing this year and reminded members the December meeting will ask for formal approval of the levy.
