The Rankin Board voted unanimously on Jan. 26 to approve the 2026–2027 school calendar and the tentative class sections recommended by administration. "Motion by Member Kohl and second by Member Lowman to approve the School Calendar for the 2026-2027 school year as presented. Roll Call Vote: all vote, 'Yea', motion carried (4-0)," the minutes state.
The board also approved the Student Council's overnight trip to the IAJHSC 2026 State Convention on April 17–18, 2026, noting the event is a school-sponsored trip and all school rules will apply. Administration had recommended keeping class sections aligned with current offerings and the board did not object to that recommendation.
