Rankin board approves transportation bid addendums; special meeting set to award contract

The Rankin School District Board approved Transportation Services Bid Addendums 01–03 during its Feb. 23 meeting and set a special board meeting for March 2 at 5:00 p.m. to award the transportation contract.
Dr. Gordon told the board he expects three providers to bid — Alltown, First Student and Illinois Central School Bus — and noted Pekin District #108 plans to contract with Alltown. Because Rankin’s bid process follows District #108’s, Dr. Gordon said the outcome there could affect available carriers and pricing for Rankin. He also said the district will explore options to purchase or lease a vehicle to cover gaps in service if needed, but no purchase decision is imminent.
The motion to approve the addendums carried on a unanimous roll-call vote (6‑0). The board will meet March 2 to review and award the contract.
