The Rankin Board of Education on Jan. 26 awarded several facilities and equipment contracts. "Motion by Member Helfers and second by Member Pollman to approve the project bid award for RTU-3 Replacement to J.A. Fritch & Sons, Inc.," the minutes show; the motion carried on a unanimous roll call (4–0). The board also approved a quote and purchase of Chromebooks from STL and awarded sealcoating and striping for Rebel Lane and the back parking lot to Tazewell County Asphalt, each by unanimous vote.
Board members did not request further discussion before voting on the items presented as part of Action Items. The superintendent had earlier noted the RTU replacement and the Bridges math curriculum purchase as the largest planned expenditures affecting the budget forecast for the year.
