After adjourning an executive session held to discuss personnel matters, the Prospect Heights School District 23 Board of Education on March 12 approved Non‑PHEA employee salary adjustments for 2026‑27 and an extended leave request.
The consent agenda (including the personnel report and tuition reimbursement report) was approved earlier in the meeting on a motion by Mari‑Lynn Peters and seconded by Dr. Spencer Long; the vote on consent was unanimous. Following the executive session, Dr. Long moved to approve Non‑PHEA salaries for 2026‑27 (seconded by Mrs. Peters) and the motion passed 7–0. The Board later approved an extended leave request on a motion by Mr. Greidanus, seconded by Mrs. Peters (vote 7–0). Recorded personnel items in the packet include multiple changes of status, new hires and placements effective Aug. 17, 2026 and several retirements that the district estimates will reduce payroll costs by about $227,000.
Administration noted internal transfers made consistent with the district's negotiated agreements, a set of posted vacancies to be recruited at a March 14 job fair and the decision not to refill an Instructional Coach position following a resignation. The staffing plan and projected retirements will inform final budget decisions ahead of the FY27 adoption cycle.
