Board authorizes RTU replacement bid and greenlights smartboard purchase with Title I funds

The Rankin Board authorized Superintendent Dr. Gordon and Keach Architectural, Inc. to let bids for replacement of rooftop unit RTU-3 and approved the purchase of a smartboard from Bradfields, Inc. to be paid with Title I grant funds. Both motions passed unanimously on Dec. 15.
The authorization to bid follows Technology Committee recommendations discussed earlier in the meeting, which also included seeking quotes to replace the district’s bell and intercom system and purchasing additional Chromebooks and a smartboard as part of the district’s smartboard plan. Board members indicated procurement will proceed through standard bid and contracting procedures with Keach Architectural serving as the district’s project architect for the RTU scope.
