Nick Pacelli, presenter for the Special Education Department, told the Curriculum Committee the department’s professional learning community (PLC) is concentrating on development of individualized education programs (IEPs) and on a plan to monitor student comprehension.
Pacelli said the department’s main challenge is the growing level of supports students require to be successful and that the PLC work will focus on consistent IEP practices and monitoring measures to track comprehension and interventions.
