The River Trails School District 26 Finance Committee on Nov. 11 voted to advance a matching $50,000 FY26 School Maintenance Grant application to the full Board for approval. Assistant Superintendent for Business Services Ryan Berry told the committee the grant would be used toward a solar-panel project at Indian Grove if the district is awarded the funds.
Committee Chair Louis Camardo called for a voice vote to move the grant forward to the Nov. 11 Board meeting; both Committee Member William Grimpe and Chair Camardo voted to advance the item. The committee recorded no opposed votes in the minutes and the motion carried to refer the grant application to the Board for action.
The committee discussed the purpose of the grant only as it relates to the solar project; Berry provided the overview and did not list additional funding sources in the minutes. The grant was described in the minutes as a matching award, with the district responsible for the local match if the grant is successful. The Board will consider formal approval at its Nov. 11 meeting.
