The Westchester School District 92-5 Board of Education voted Jan. 15 to approve bills and claims totaling $623,170.73 and payrolls totaling $1,072,571.83 and authorized payment. The motion was made by Gina Sanchez and seconded by Rose Ortiz; the motion carried (Yea: 6, Nay: 0, Absent: 1).
During the same agenda item, Mr. Gress reported that the district received 40% of its Educational Fund levy payment in December. He said Cook County has changed accounting systems and is experiencing problems distributing tax collections to taxing districts, which has affected the district’s cash flow timing.
The vote followed routine consent and financial reporting items on the agenda. Board members approved the motion without further discussion; the absent member for the vote was TiShaunda McPherson.
The Board received routine district financial reports and will continue monitoring levy distributions and cash flow as Cook County resolves its accounting changes. The next regular Board meeting is scheduled as listed in the Board’s advanced planning.
