Board upholds expulsion in abeyance for student, orders alternative placement

Following an executive session on personnel and student matters, the board voted to find that student number 2026001 committed gross disobedience or misconduct and to expel the student until Jan. 1, 2027. The expulsion was held in abeyance to permit the student to attend the ROE 40 Alternative School, and the student is prohibited from school grounds and school events during the expulsion term.
The motion, made by Kathy Norris and seconded by Brandon Little, passed on a roll call vote of 6-0. The board recorded that the expulsion terms include a stay contingent on participation in the alternative program and set the return date.
