District will return with proposal to hire BCBA as student-services staffing needs rise

Director of Student Services Nora Skentzos told the board that the district will post positions for a school nurse, a physical therapist and an occupational therapist for the 2026–27 school year. She also reported the district has been assigned to Tier 2 (Targeted) support for students who have participated in the alternate assessment over the past three years and said she will submit a plan for those students.
Skentzos said a proposal to hire a BCBA (board-certified behavior analyst) will be presented at a future meeting; the transcript states, 'Nora Skentzos will bring back details next month on the proposal to hire a BCBA.' The district also plans continued professional development for teachers and is considering a BCBA hire to support students with specialized behavioral needs.
