Will County School District 92 honors students in ILMEA composition contest

Principal Sue Forcash told the Board of Education that Will County School District 92 had five students representing the district in the 2025–26 ILMEA Composition Contest and that the district submitted 349 total entries. She named the students and their placements, including Nicholas Grande (1st place, Rap/Hip-hop) and Layan Shouman (2nd place, Remix).
The board heard that four additional students were nominated for the 6th-grade Elementary All-State Choir based on auditions. The recognition was offered during the board’s recognitions and celebrations segment; the district congratulated students, families and music staff for the placements and for building on the district’s music program successes.
