The Wilmington Community Unit School District No. 209‑U Board of Education on April 13 approved multiple personnel actions for the 2026‑27 school year, including the hiring of a new middle school principal and several instructional and support staff.
The board approved hiring Tori Bailey as Wilmington Middle School principal effective Aug. 1, 2026, at an annual salary of $96,500; the motion was made by Southall and seconded by Alberico and carried with board members present voting in favor (Dziuban and Kunz recorded as absent). The board also approved Scott Maupin’s recommendation to employ Lisa Nobles as a Wilmington High School guidance counselor for the 2026‑27 school year (Masters, Step 3 on the salary schedule), and approved Dan White as a 7th grade social studies teacher at BA Step 1, Taylor Panozzo as a WHS library aide, and Aaren Dillon as Stevens Intermediate School principal secretary.
Separately, the board accepted a resignation from Bruning School librarian Danielle Stull (effective at the conclusion of the 2025‑26 school year), approved the retirement notice of Wilmington Middle School librarian Christine Reigh, and accepted the resignation of JV boys basketball coach Sean Micetich. Employment approvals were noted as pending compliance with applicable federal, state and local guidelines.
The board also authorized multiple summer staffing arrangements and supplements — including part‑time seasonal groundskeepers and custodial staff with indicated caps on total summer wages, and compensation for coaches supervising a 26‑day summer weight training program — as part of the personnel items approved under separate motions.
