Wilmington board approves leaves, volunteer coaches and personnel lists including resolution on support staff

At the March 9 meeting the Wilmington CUSD 209‑U Board of Education approved a leave of absence for Wilmington Middle School social studies teacher Curtis Hansen; FMLA will run concurrent with his accumulated sick leave and any additional days beyond exhausted sick leave will be unpaid.
The board also approved employment of volunteer baseball coaches Brock Bolser and Kyle Farrell (no stipend), adopted Resolution 1‑26 authorizing notice of reasons for dismissal for eight named educational support personnel, and passed Document No. 3‑1‑26 listing teachers entering first, second and third year probation and those granted tenure or part‑time assignments for the 2026–27 school year. Motions carried as recorded in roll call votes.
