Principals, superintendent outline holiday schedules, testing and programs; IMRF rate increase noted

Building principals provided routine administrative updates at the Dec. 8 board meeting. Bruning Principal Beth Norman listed student events including Santa's Secret Shop (Dec. 11), Kindergarten program (Dec. 9 at 6:00 P.M.), Christmas parties Dec. 19 with early dismissal and winter break Dec. 22–Jan. 5. Stevens Intermediate Principal Kevin Mikuce and WMS Principal Adam Spicer described holiday activities, performances and upcoming benchmark testing beginning in January (i-Ready and AIMS Web assessments).
WHS Principal Scott Maupin announced semester exam dates (Dec. 17–19, 2025), that WHS will offer an ACT prep class beginning in March 2026 with the ACT test scheduled April 16, 2026, and recognized nine Illinois State Scholars to be honored at the March 2026 board meeting. Superintendent Kevin Feeney also reported the finalized 2026 IMRF employer rate will increase from 12.62% to 15.17%, a detail the district business office will factor into budgeting.
