The Wilmington CUSD 209U Board approved multiple personnel actions during the Jan. 12 meeting. The board accepted a letter of resignation from Matthew Swick from his position as Assistant Superintendent, effective June 30, 2026. The board also approved the resignation of kitchen staff member Kimberly Skole, effective Jan. 13, 2026.
The board approved a leave of absence request from cafeteria worker Stacey Johnstone beginning Jan. 14 and continuing through April 8, 2026. The leave will be administered under FMLA in conjunction with accumulated sick leave; any days beyond accumulated sick days will be unpaid, as recorded in the motion.
For 2026–27 reassignments, the board approved moving Mr. Adam Spicer from Wilmington Middle School principal to Assistant Superintendent of the district effective July 1, 2026 (employment contract to follow); it also reassigned Brian Goff to Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Wilmington High School effective Aug. 1, 2026 and reassigned Curt Hansen to Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Wilmington Middle School effective Aug. 1, 2026. The board approved employment of Colt Monroe as an assistant track coach for spring 2026 at Step 2 of the salary schedule and approved Jeff Mison as a teacher mentor for a newly hired Industrial Education/CAD Lab instructor effective Jan. 5, 2026.
All personnel motions carried with the recorded roll call (Alberico-aye; Cragg-absent; Dziuban-aye; Kempes-aye; Kunz-aye; Southall-aye; Anderson-aye). The board indicated recommendations for employment contracts will be presented at a subsequent meeting where appropriate.
