Principals report rising enrollments, benchmark testing and Homecoming plans

Bruning Elementary Principal Beth Norman reported total early grades enrollment of 212 (Early Childhood 18; Project Sunrise 40; Kindergarten 82; First Grade 72) and listed upcoming events including preschool screening on Sept. 12 and fall picture day on Sept. 18. Norman also said RTI benchmarking began Sept. 2 and that the first 'Pawsative' behavior drawing will occur Sept. 30.
L.J. Stevens Principal Kevin Mikuce outlined district literacy planning with staff leads Eva Guttosch and Kim Skelly and noted i-Ready and AimsWeb testing are establishing baseline scores. Middle School Principal Adam Spicer reported total enrollment of 276 and described fall benchmark testing, Homework Helpers and an assembly on youth empowerment with Jared Scott. High School Principal Scott Maupin reported WHS enrollment of 382 (Freshmen 88; Sophomores 91; Juniors 102; Seniors 101; OOD 24; Wilco enrollment 95) and previewed fall testing dates (PSAT Oct. 8; Pre-ACT Oct. 22; ASVAB Oct. 31) and Homecoming activities (Sept. 22'27; parade Sept. 26; dance Sept. 27).
