Board accepts resignations, approves hires and FMLA request

At the Aug. 11 meeting the board accepted the resignation of Katelyn Cisco, part‑time music teacher at Bruning Elementary, effective Aug. 11, 2025, and accepted the resignation of Wilmington High School Industrial Education teacher Bryce Antos effective Sept. 26, 2025. The board also approved a district employee's FMLA request: Michael Bushnell, a WHS science teacher, will be on leave from Sept. 30 through Nov. 13, 2025.
Trustees approved multiple new hires and substitute lists (employment contingent on required paperwork and compliance with local, state and federal guidelines). The approvals included part‑time music teacher Nicole Neumann, substitute PE teacher Blake Harseim, and several Title I and Pre‑K aides; the board also approved co‑curricular assignments for WMS and WHS.
