District highlights enrollment stability, staff awards and retirements

At its Sept. 22 meeting the board received a set of school-level announcements. Dr. Brian Ganan presented Sixth Day enrollment data and said overall enrollment numbers remain "relatively consistent with last year's numbers." The board also heard about school-level instructional practices at Gurrie and assessment progress at Hodgkins and other schools.
The board recognized staff milestones: Kathy McHugh of Seventh Avenue is retiring after 30 years of service; staff and students celebrated her contributions. The board also noted that Ms. Marek of Spring Avenue was selected as the Illinois School Librarian of the Year for 2025–2026 and will represent Spring Avenue and District 105 at the state level.
