La Grange SD 105 on July 28 approved a multi‑year First Student general transportation contract (FY26–30) and renewed the Right At School (RAS) agreement for FY26. The transportation packet summarized historical per‑route rates and the approved offer showing a FY26 rate of $140.80 (a 21% increase in the packet's presentation for FY26 versus FY25 figures).
Board minutes also reflect an operational change to advanced‑math student routing. Susan Calder explained that to balance class sizes and reduce double transportation, Hodgkins students participating in 5th/6th grade advanced math will be picked up on a second morning route that brings students to the host school before the school day, rather than having a mid‑morning transfer that would require two trips.
Both contracts were approved by unanimous roll call. The First Student contract includes multi‑year rate escalators and was approved as part of a collaborative offer through the Lyons shared‑services group referenced in the packet.
