The La Grange District 105 board approved a slate of personnel actions to staff buildings for the start of the 2025–26 school year. Approved hires included lunchroom monitors, paraprofessionals, custodial staff, a .6 FTE school psychologist (Natalie Phillips, Hodgkins, listed salary $49,873.80), and Haley Wilson as music teacher for Ideal and Seventh Avenue (annual salary $49,949.10). Daniel Barrett moved the employment approvals; Megan Goggin seconded. The motion passed on a roll call vote with six ayes and one absence.
The board also accepted several resignations (including Julie Marfoe and Elizabeth Mercado) and recorded retirements: Kathy McHugh (building secretary at Seventh Avenue, effective Sept. 18, 2025) and Steven Speiser (grade 6 teacher, four-year retirement notice through the 2028–29 school year). Megan Goggin moved to accept the resignations; Kelly Young seconded and the motion passed.
In addition, the board approved multiple position changes effective Aug. 18, 2025 (grade-level changes and teacher reassignments at Seventh Avenue and Hodgkins). Kelly Young moved the change-of-position item and Sheila Bryck seconded; roll call passed with six ayes. Board minutes show these personnel items were routine approvals to align staff with classroom assignments and start-of-year needs.
Board members did not debate individual hires in detail on the public record. Several approvals noted in the minutes are contingent on background checks where specified.
