He outlined year-one priorities that include improving Professional Learning Communities to enhance instructional practice and strengthening all stakeholders' sense of belonging.
The presentation described rollout activities including a staff professional learning day, a parent-night launch video, storyboard walks and introductory letters to families. Dr. Ganan framed year one as a "work in progress" and said the district will refine actions as staff and families provide feedback. The board did not take a vote on the plan at this meeting; the item was presented for information and initial alignment with the district's goals.
Board members asked no procedural questions on record during the presentation. The strategic plan update will factor into future curriculum and staff development agenda items, and district communication plans will continue through the fall.
