The La Grange Elementary School District 105 Board on July 28 approved a slate of personnel actions including certificated and classified hires, accepted resignations and a retirement, and authorized an interim principal assignment.
By unanimous roll call the board approved seven hires, among them Kristen Bertovic as district Math Interventionist at an annual salary of $83,123.90 and Jennifer Pozen as a Reading Specialist at Seventh Avenue at $63,275.00. The board also approved a long‑term substitute assignment for Mary Ellen Staelgraeve (Grade 5 at Ideal Elementary) from Sept. 8 through Nov. 3, 2025 at the daily master's rate listed in the packet.
The board accepted resignations for classified and certificated staff (including Edith Cardenas Soltero effective Aug. 29, 2025) and recorded a retirement extension for Louise Kulaga, science teacher at Gurrie Middle School, through the end of the 2027‑28 school year.
Separately, the board approved hiring Mr. Ed Hood as interim principal at Ideal Elementary with a daily rate of $600; transitions will begin in early August with an expected end date around Sept. 19, 2025. Board President Bryan White called the motions and each passed by unanimous roll call.
These personnel actions were presented as part of the consent and action agendas and are recorded in the board minutes with effective dates and compensation where provided.
