Board holds executive sessions on personnel, then approves personnel report

The Chanute Unified School District 413 board held two closed executive sessions under the non-elected personnel exception to the Kansas Open Meetings Act. The first session addressed an individual employee's performance; Landon Wolken moved to enter the session and Derek Waggoner seconded. The board later extended that executive session and invited Superintendent Matt Koester to join.
A second closed session addressed resignations, retirements, employments and transfers of non-elected personnel; that session was entered by motion of Jennifer Zywietz, seconded by Heather Guernsey, with Superintendent Koester invited to join. After reconvening, the board approved the personnel report as presented. Heather Guernsey moved to approve the personnel report and Jennifer Zywietz seconded; the motion carried with a recorded vote of 6 yea, 0 nay, 1 absent.
