Board approves first readings of four policies on employment, reporting and curriculum

Westchester SD 92-5 approved first readings of Policy 5-10 (Equal Employment Opportunity and Minority Recruitment), Policy 5-90 (Abused and Neglected Child Reporting), Policy 6-60 (Curriculum Content) and Policy 6-130 (Program for the Gifted) at its Feb. 19 meeting.
The Board approved first readings of four district policies: 5-10 Equal Employment Opportunity and Minority Recruitment; 5-90 Abused and Neglected Child Reporting; 6-60 Curriculum Content; and 6-130 Program for the Gifted. Each motion for first reading was moved and seconded and carried by the Board.
Minutes indicate the Board discussed each policy during the first-reading process. Dr. Salemi briefly stepped out of the meeting from 8:15–8:20 p.m. while these policy discussions were recorded in the agenda. No final adoptions were recorded; the items were advanced as first readings per board procedure.
