The ad hoc rules advisory committee voted to advance an ordinance that would repeal Chapter 2, Administration, Article 4, Boards and Commissions, Division 4, Commission on Women (sections 2-16 through 2-170) of the City Code and replace that language with the version included in the agenda packet.
Councilor Waring moved approval and Councilor Tigler seconded the motion. Chair Jennifer said she had read the proposed language and "didn't see anything that really popped out at me," and with no further discussion the committee approved the ordinance by voice vote.
Committee discussion on the item was brief; members described the measure as part of a mayoral initiative to clean up boards and commissions language and offered no substantive amendments. The ordinance will proceed according to regular council procedures for ordinances.
