Board member Bri Leroy moved "I move to go into closed executive session to discuss an individual employee's performance pursuant to non-elected personnel exception under KOMA, inviting Superintendent Koester, Assistant Superintendent Burris and Director Applegate, and return to open session in this room at 6:30 pm." Landon Wolken seconded the motion, and the board recorded a 7-0 roll-call vote in favor.
After the board entered executive session, the board recorded four consecutive extensions of that closed session. Motions to extend were approved unanimously to 7:00 p.m., then to 7:32 p.m., then to 7:48 p.m., and finally to 7:54 p.m.; the motions were made and seconded by various board members and each carried on recorded 7-0 votes.
The motions and roll-call votes were recorded in open session; the board did not disclose the content of the closed discussion on personnel matters in the public record, citing the non-elected personnel exception in KOMA. The meeting materials are marked "DRAFT / Unapproved."
