Winfield SD 34 highlights fall assessment results and recognizes students

Winfield School District 34 reviewed fall assessment results during the Oct. 30 meeting and reaffirmed its reliance on MAP testing as the most useful local guide for instruction.
District staff reported that Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) results continue to arrive unpredictably and show limited correlation with MAP, PSAT, ACT or SAT outcomes. New state scoring norms introduced this year changed how proficiency levels are reported; the district said it will not use IAR results to guide instruction and will emphasize MAP data instead. The board also recognized students Will Adams and Maddie Hlava during the meeting.
