Winfield SD 34 approves personnel changes, retirement notices and gym repairs

At its Oct. 30 meeting the Winfield School District 34 Board of Education approved several personnel and facilities motions.
Motions included reducing crossing‑guard hours for Jay Dudasik and increasing hours for Amber Rowe; both actions passed on roll call after motions by Heather Armstrong and seconds by Dave Hempe. The board also accepted intent‑to‑retire notifications from six employees (Kate Cyrus, Shona Dave', Lisa Napolitano, Corine Nelson, Elizabeth Nelson and Ray Serbick). For facilities, the board voted to employ JD Enterprises to repair bleachers and basketball hoop components at Winfield Central for $7,895; the motion was made by Matt Tibble and seconded by Dave Hempe and passed by roll call. Earlier in the meeting, Lynn Kammes moved to amend the agenda "to remove the approval of the closed session minutes for September 25, 2025," a motion seconded by Heather Armstrong that passed by roll call.
