Weld County commissioners voted July 27 to approve amendment No. 4 to a task order contract for public health emergency preparedness and response, accepting $314,254 in federal funding for the July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 fiscal year. Director Cheshire told the board the funding became available because of differences in state and federal fiscal years and recommended approval of the amendment and signature authority for the chair.
Commissioner Perry Buck moved to approve Contract ID 10993; the motion was seconded, the board answered "aye" and the chair declared the motion carried. Director Cheshire said staff will be able to bill activities back to July 1 and that the award covers the full federal fiscal year for the county’s preparedness activities.
