Weld County recognizes Public Works employee Hank Petrie after 20 years

The Weld County Board of County Commissioners on July 27 recognized Hank Petrie for 20 years of service in the Department of Public Works. Supervisors and commissioners recounted Petrie’s on‑the‑job expertise, training contributions and the scale of his work across county highways and maintenance programs.
Petrie told the board he has appreciated working with colleagues and that county health screenings years earlier helped identify a personal health issue. He said he planned to travel in a small RV and go fishing in retirement: “I bought a small RV. I think I'll go fishing and maybe travel the country a little bit.” Supervisors said Petrie’s institutional knowledge will be missed and thanked him for decades of dependable service to Weld County residents.
