Board approves acceptance and final purchase agreement for 450 Lincoln Avenue

The Salinas Union High School District board authorized execution of documents to accept and finalize purchase of the building at 450 Lincoln Avenue.
Legal/administrative staff presented background and asked for authority to accept the real property GRAMA deed and sign the acceptance agreement. Staff noted the property purchase had been in process since April 28, 2026 and that final executed purchase documents were presented at the meeting. Trustees approved the authorization to execute the purchase agreement by motion.
Staff said moving district departments into the 450 Lincoln property would allow termination of a lease at 584 South Main Street that costs the district roughly $13,000 a month; district counsel said escrow closing will trigger the notice to the leased property owner and that termination requires a 90-day notice.
The board voted to approve the acceptance and authorized the superintendent/board designee to sign the final documents.
