Arcadia Unified says PowerSchool cybersecurity incident did not include local Social Security numbers; monitoring offered

Arcadia Unified's technology staff briefed the board on a recent PowerSchool cybersecurity incident that affected districts nationwide. Greg Gazania (Technology Strategy & Innovation) said PowerSchool sent notice to impacted students and staff and has offered identity and credit monitoring services to those affected.
Gazania emphasized a key point specific to Arcadia Unified: "No Social Security numbers of any student or staff in Arcadia Unified was involved in this incident," he said. Gazania added that the data affected varies by district and that some districts may have had different data elements involved; he encouraged anyone with questions to use the contact information included in the PowerSchool message.
The district said it will share new information if PowerSchool provides updates and that staff are available to answer individual questions about the scope of data involved for specific people.
