Committee member (Speaker 4) moved to send Option B to the full board "including the interlocal agreement," and the motion passed with three votes in favor and one opposed, the chair (Speaker 1) announced. Committee discussion before the vote focused on the budgetary trade-offs of routing additional local dollars through the interlocal agreement and the administrative implications for supplement accounts.
Miss McLean (Speaker 3), the presenter, told the committee the interlocal agreement would make additional local dollars eligible for charter-school allocations and that the district "would need to account for that charter school allocation which is about 423,000." She cautioned that Option B would increase the district's projected need to assign fund balance to roughly $2,100,000.
The committee left the final decision to the full board. Miss McLean said the board agenda for Aug. 4 will include a line item on the interlocal agreement followed by the budget recommendation for discussion and approval.
