The Arcadia Unified School District Board of Education opened a public hearing and approved a tentative agreement with the California School Employees Association (CSEA) for the 2024–25 year, and accepted the required AB 1200 report. Superintendent-level staff described the district’s return to interest-based bargaining (IBB) with CSEA and thanked labor leaders for participating in the negotiating process.
Sarah Torres, representing the CSEA chapter, spoke in support of the IBB process and encouraged continued collaboration. After the public comment period closed, the board moved to approve the tentative agreement and AB 1200 report; the motion passed 5–0. Board members praised the collaborative work that led to the agreement and noted the value of the interest-based approach for building “transparency” and “respect.”
