Algonac School Board approves consent agenda, $745,957 in bills and multiple personnel moves

The Algonac Community School District Board of Education approved its consent agenda during its regular meeting on Sept. 22, 2025, approving minutes, personnel items and the treasurer's report. Board member Heather Arneil-Roberts moved the motion; John Highstreet supported it. The motion carried, 6–0.
Under the approved treasurer's report the board approved general fund bills of $392,878.97; School Service Fund–Food $27,962.89; Capital Project Fund $305,232.71; Internal Funds $19,789.15; and Debt Retirement Funds $93.71, for total bills of $745,957.43. The board also approved other wire transfers of $10,398.29 and payroll/withholdings of $987,191.46, for total transfers in and out of $997,589.75.
The consent agenda included personnel items: Christina Castiglione was approved to extend her leave for an additional year. The board approved four special education paraprofessional hires: Tori Lestage and Bella Sadlowski (part-time, Algonquin Elementary); Jenelle Simons (Algonquin Elementary); and Jada Strickland (Millside Elementary).
Board President Nicole Emery called the vote after the motion; the minutes record Ayes 6, Nays 0. The board took no separate roll-call votes on individual consent items.
