Superintendent highlights opening-day PD, orientations and upcoming events

Superintendent Brent R. Noskey told the board that the district held its all-staff opening meeting that day and that teachers participated in professional development; new-teacher orientation took place on Aug. 14, 2025. Noskey noted athletics had begun (boys soccer had games the prior Friday) and praised the high school band for its Danish Festival parade performance.
Board members discussed upcoming events: Doug Lamborne will serve as the district representative at the MASB delegate meeting Oct. 23 in Traverse City; the board will complete a self-assessment (Ms. McKee to email details), and board members plan to participate in the Belding Labor Day parade on Sept. 1, 2025 with a 10:30 a.m. line-up.
