The Ashley Community Schools Board of Education convened its regular meeting on March 16, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Media Center but did not have enough members present to conduct business. The minutes record: "Tabled - No Quorum." The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
Because the board lacked a quorum, the consent agenda and multiple action items were postponed. Items listed as tabled include approval of two proposed high-school math courses — "Beyond the Scoreboard: Data in Sports" and "Data Detectives: MythBusting with Statistics and Mathematics" — an Unlimited School of Choice option, and approval of an ESS WillSub contract for 2026–27. The minutes also note that the board did not act on acceptance of a letter of retirement from Traci Gavenda; that item remains pending.
Board attendance as recorded in the minutes showed Steve Hardman, Shelly Oswald and Dawn Wirt present; Anmarie Bradley Dodd, Ashleigh Shaw and Trent Yelsik were recorded as absent. The board noted several informational district reports on the agenda but took no votes because of the missing quorum.
The board will reconvene and take action on outstanding items at a future meeting; several new-business items were scheduled for formal action at the April 20 BOE meeting.
