District staff reported results of an on-site review by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE), which identified two clerical findings in Ashley Community Schools’ food-service operations.
According to the report presented to the board, the required district self-monitoring form had not been signed by the sponsor reviewer or a building representative, and the NexSys Coordinated Application listed the contract overseer incorrectly; staff corrected both issues during the review. "These two small clerical findings were corrected during the on-site visit. No additional corrective action required," the minutes state. The report also noted technical assistance was provided on the Dietary Specifications Assessment Tool used to assess compliance with dietary specifications for calories, fat and sodium. No other findings were recorded in the on-site review.
