At the Oct. 27 meeting, Board President Nicole Emery reported that she, Jennifer Baker and Andrew Goulet attended the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) conference. Jennifer Baker said she will share a 2026 'Plan Your Year Ahead' sheet listing available CBA courses, and board members noted that the SCCASB February meeting conflicts with a TEC open-house date.
Baker also raised that a bill in the Michigan House could change how school board candidates file by requiring them to run under a political party. The board recorded the information under board reports; no formal board position or vote on the House bill was taken at the Oct. 27 meeting.
