Curriculum director reports new materials, AI conference and intervention pilots

Melissa Hanners, the district's curriculum director, presented several instructional updates at the Oct. 27 meeting. She reported attending the 2025 'AI for School Leaders: Powering Up Your District and School Teams With AI' conference, said the district has received Amplify CKLA 3rd Edition materials and that teachers are working collaboratively to plan implementation of the newly designed skills units.
Hanners also said the ThinkCERCA pilot for grades 6–8 is progressing successfully and that math consultant Laura Chambliss partnered with K–5 teachers to launch a fact-fluency intervention aimed at strengthening foundational math skills. The administrative team completed a district-wide math data overview and the district newsletter highlighted these instructional initiatives.
