Algonac Board approves consent agenda including hires and bills

The Algonac Board of Education voted to approve the consent agenda at its Oct. 27 regular meeting in the Algonac Jr./Sr. High School library. Board President Nicole Emery called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.; Heather Arneil-Roberts moved to approve the consent agenda and John Highstreet supported the motion. The motion carried, Ayes 6, Nays 0.
The consent agenda covered standard business: approval of the Sept. 22, 2025 minutes; personnel items; and the treasurer's report and bills. Personnel actions listed in the agenda included hiring Sydney Luciani as a kindergarten teacher at Millside Elementary and accepting the resignation of Tracie Lines, a paraprofessional at Millside Elementary. The board approved those personnel changes as part of the motion approving all consent items. The board discussed no separate roll-call votes for individual consent items during the meeting.
The board is scheduled to consider several policy updates at its November meeting, per an information item presented at the end of the Oct. 27 agenda. No additional action on those policies was taken during the Oct. 27 meeting.
