Enrollment steady at 1,249; Student Council plans game day and two more blood drives

The district reported enrollment of 1,249 students at the Jan. 12 meeting. Catina M. Crossman, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and Pupil Accounting Specialist, provided a breakdown that included 27 infant/toddler students, 46 PK3, 52 PK4 and 9 homeschool or stand‑alone students; she also said six desk audits were completed for the Fall 2025 General Collection and the district expects a final DS4061 in February. Spring Count Day is Feb. 11, 2026.
Student Council representative Piper Barnard told trustees the council confirmed a game/activity day for Jan. 30 ahead of Snowcoming (theme: Disco). Barnard said the Jan. 6 Versiti blood drive was "a huge success" and that two more drives are scheduled for March 10 and May 26. Trustee Sue Campana also noted community fundraising events that support student activities, including an Upriver Pizza fundraiser on Jan. 30 and a Culvers 'Make your Meal Matter' event on Jan. 13 partially benefiting the BCHS Travel Program.
The board did not take formal action on enrollment items but scheduled Spring Count Day and will continue to monitor transfers and desk audit results; Catina Crossman said district enrollment has shown little month‑to‑month movement but continues to process within‑district transfers.
